报告摘要
Lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticles are ideal candidates for nonlinear upconversion of infrared excitation because of their excellent photostability, massive anti-Stokes shift and exceptional thermal sensitivity. The ability to precisely modulate the photophysical luminescence properties of upconversion nanocrystals on demand is vital in translating their properties into real-world applications. In this talk, I will present several strategies we have developed to manipulate upconversion luminescence in terms of emission intensity, wavelength, and decay rate. Our hybrid approaches have led to the development of highly-luminescent upconverting nanoresonators, whispering-gallery-modes-supported upconversion microlasers, electrochemically responsive unconversion nanomaterials, etc., paving the way towards rapid upconversion bioimaging, high-fidelity optical communication and high-capacity optical-data storage.
个人简介
Dr. Wu Yiming obtained his Ph.D. degree (2018) in the group of Professor Xiaogang Liu at the National University of Singapore. He then carried out postdoctoral work at the National University of Singapore for three years before joining the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, in 2021. He has presided over 2 core-funded project of A*STAR. As the first/corresponding author, he has published 11 scientific papers, including Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., etc. Dr. Wu's current research interest lies in the rational design of frequency conversion nanomaterials for optoelectronic applications.
