Short Biography:
Xiang Zhang is the Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of California, Berkeley. His main research interest is in micro-nano scale engineering, novel 3D fabrication technologies in microelectronics and photonics, micro and nano-devices, nano-lithography and nano-instrumentation, rapid prototyping, bio-MEMS, and semiconductor manufacturing. Professor Xiang Zhang's Research Group strives to pursue solid experimental work in addition to theoretical modeling. Their research focuses on the interaction of light with nanostructures that leads to exotic electromagnetic properties, which could be applied to the field of metamaterials, plasmonics, electronics, photonics, energy, acoustics, imaging, sensing and biology.
